Telecom Jobs

Telecom jobs are one of the most popular occupations in most cities in the United States. The telecommunication companies are experiencing huge growth, expansions, and developments are approaching fast. The reliance upon their services and products are even greater than ever.

The telecommunications industry includes internet, telephone, cellular phones, and television. The demand for telecommunication services are huge and considered essential in modern human life. The rapid development of technology in telecommunications brings people closer and communication with other people around the globe is now a common thing. These advancements contributed greatly to the success of businesses.

The telecommunications industry provided thousands of telecom jobs with its four principal sectors: the satellite, wired, wireless, and telecommunications. Communications is an essential part of daily life including businesses, homes, schools, and individuals. There are businesses that use web based software, so internet is very important in any firm, or professionals on the go. There are also cellular phone, wireless internet, satellite, and other significant services.

Telecom jobs can be found in wireless telecommunications that provide telephone, internet, and other services. These jobs are also available in cellular companies that provide cell phones, mobile computers to send, receive, and interpret data for professional working in the field. The government and other private sectors on the other hand control satellite communications to transmit and send data like images of the earth and other information to the safety department officials. Others work in radar and the towers, as maintenance and technicians.

Telecom jobs as craft workers maintain repair, install access lines, cable, and telephone equipment. Repairers and line installers connect communication equipment to houses and buildings. They install terminals and lines and uses drills to dig holes and install poles for the telephone. They also repair and maintain sophisticated equipment and solve network issues. Cable installers set up cable services to the customer’s television so that they can receive cable programming. Satellite services and wireless installers put together satellite dishes or antennas on the side of the house or the balcony of the customer’s house. The installers also explain how the cable program works and fixes it when needed.

The telecoms jobs also include telephone operators to provide telephone connections, billing issues, and provide assistance for emergencies such as accidents, fire and robbery. The customer service representatives provide a variety of services including new products and promotions, services, and address complaints. They may also answer emails, mail or by phone. Other customer service related jobs are secretaries, record clerks, information clerks, administrative assistants, and supervisors.

Training and education requirements for telecom jobs vary. Some employees have high school diplomas and training. Some cable and telephone installers require years of training, and the customer service representatives also should have at least a high school diploma and training. For repair and installations workers, a high school diploma is enough to land you a job. They are usually hired as helpers, tree trimmers, and ground workers. Telephone operators and customer service representatives should have a clear and friendly voice. Training on the job is provided for free. Applicants for customer service representative or operator positions should have a high school diploma.

• Retail sales person - $15.00
• Customer service representative - $18.00
• Sales representatives and service - $25.00
• Installers, repairers and maintenance - $28.00
• Telecom equipment installers - $30.00
• Database administrator - $35.000
• Electronics specialists - $40.00
• Software Engineers - $45.00
