Description SGT, in support of the Volpe National Transportation Systems Center, is seeking an Amazon Web Services (AWS)Application Developer. Candidate must haveexpertise in designand development of application on AWS. Candidate will be part of ahigh-profile application Modernization projectfor the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that provides vehicle safety information to the public in support of NHTSA's mission to improve safety on our Nation's highways. The successful candidate will be joining a team of professionals in a fast-paced environment where theywill be a key player with technical development responsibilities. A candidate for this position will be a self-starter who values their work and that of their team members. Candidate must be clearable for position of Public Trust Essential Job Functions Design and developdynamically scalable, highly available, highly reliable and fault-tolerant applications on AWS Migrate existing complex on-premises applications to the AWS platform Select appropriate AWS services to design and deploy an application based on the business requirements Code, test, debug, implement, and document efficient database driven web applications Develop unit test plans to satisfy functional and technical requirements Prepare appropriate documentation such as program code, and technical documents Assist the project manager in preparing estimates and justification for assigned tasks Participate in software development processes with quality assurance, version control and build processes Work with management to resolve issues and validate programming requirements within areas of responsibility Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; degree in computer science, mathematics or related field preferred Must have a minimum of four years of Java EE programming experience, with at least two years with AWS Demonstrated experience of design and implementation of micro-services architecture and RESTful web services Experience in developing dynamic interactive web application user interfaces using advanced JavaScript frameworks and JSON supported technologies Experience of developing with AWS services (AWS Simple Queue, AWS simple, workflow, etc.) with appropriate SDKs Experience of developing with AWS databases (RDS, Aurora and PostgreSQL) Experience of developing application with Amazon Lambda and Elastic Beanstalk Experience in migrating of document storage to AWS S3 Experience in migrating Oracle relational database to AWS RDS.
