Job Description Art Van Furniture, the Midwest\u2019s largest Furniture and Mattress retailer, is seeking a Director of eCommerce Merchandising to join the eCommerce Department.\u00a0 In this position, directly reporting to the EVP, Digital Commerce for Art Van Furniture, you will be in charge of all aspects of the buying and merchandising for the company\u2019s eCommerce operations including, but not limited to, monitoring the financial performance of product categories, supporting and promoting idea generation and analysis, establishing business relationships with vendors, ensuring vendor compliance with AVF\u2019s standards, and keeping abreast of business and market trends. This position is responsible for the growth and development of our company\u2019s \endless aisles\ strategy. Manage assigned buyers. Support the growth of the endless aisle strategy. Work with EVP - eCommerce to rapidly grow the product selection on the internet. Ensure buying is in accordance with the Company\u2019s target market. Monitor the financial performance of product categories to achieve sales, warehouse margin, delivered markup and stock turnover goals. Support and promote idea generation and analysis for merchandising strategy. Ensure the development of guest driven product, price, style, and quality that support departmental and Company goals. Evaluate merchandise mix to individual customer group needs and translate findings into action plans. Ensure contribution margin is integrated into existing merchandising activities specifically vendor negotiations and assortment line reviews. Partner with marketing team to formulate marketing and promotional plans. Maintain compliance and standards of our business practices, policies, and tools with both our vendors and company associates. Attend trade shows, markets and events to observe market trends, gather product information, select merchandise and establish business relationships with vendors. Work cooperatively with Vice President - Supply Chain Logistics to integrate improved processes in the supply and quality within the department. Skills \/ Requirements The successful candidate will possess the following skills and experiences:\u00a0 Bachelor\u2019s degree in Purchasing, Business Administration or related field; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. A minimum of ten (10) years of experience of buying in a multiple category experience including a minimum of five (5) years of management experience.
