The diverse journalism at NBC News Digital helps audiences make sense of the moment while making better, more informed decisions. Commerce is an exciting area of growth in our editorial, and the NBC News Group is seeking an SEO Analyst to join our Audience Development team and support our consumer-focused coverage. This SEO Analyst will become a strategic partner to our Shop TODAY and Select teams, helping
support the implementation of SEO strategies, including data analysis, on-page optimization, content gap analysis, competitive research and reporting. The team is looking for a business-minded thought leader who understands the importance of search intent to content discovery.
Responsibilities
Communicate regularly with editorial around SEO strategies, tactics, deliverables and performance
On-page optimization (title tags, meta descriptions, header tags, internal linking, etc.)
Provide real-time analytics feedback and make recommendations to improve search traffic
Analyze data and form insights about audience behavior and site metrics
Assist in weekly reporting and participate in regular editorial meetings
Conduct keyword research and advise actionable SEO recommendations to editorial team
Map keywords to user intent, identify content gaps and emerging trends
Monitor keyword rankings and provide suggestions based on findings
Assist in developing SEO content strategies for evergreen and holiday sales event-based content
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher
Proven SEO experience, preferably within commerce websites
Comprehensive understanding of editorial SEO
Ability to multi-task, adapt quickly to changing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication (written and verbal) and time management skills
Organized and analytical with strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams
Proficient with Google Trends, Google Search Console, SEMrush and other SEO tools
Team player with a strong work ethic and a positive attitude
