The Human Centered Design (HCD) team within Amazon’s Worldwide Operations is seeking a Sr. UX Designer to help us drive innovation in our global transportation initiatives. You will work collaboratively with the design team, engineering, product, research, operations, and executives to envision, create, and launch world-class user experiences for pioneering new products and services.
Sr. UX Designers at Amazon lead work that directly impacts the customer experience with significant autonomy over an area of ownership. Sr. UX Designers also influence UX beyond their immediate team. In this role, you will drive and create experiences for new products and services in the transportation technology space of Middle Mile. You will have the opportunity to work with a variety of tools and technologies across a broad spectrum of spaces including mobile apps, web, hardware, and physical spaces.
HCD is a multidisciplinary group at Amazon responsible for the design of many exciting products including Prime Now, Amazon Flex, Amazon Locker, and more. Teams of designers, design technologists, researchers, and producers work collaboratively in our studios to create the next big thing for customers.
Design new solutions while planning and strategizing for the direction of future iterations.
Quickly iterate on multiple interactive design solutions and work through details.
Advocate for your design solutions by putting them in context of business and user goals.
Develop high level and/or detailed storyboards, mockups, and prototypes to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
Deliver work thats not only user-friendly, esthetically engaging, but which also produces results.
Work alongside engineers and product managers throughout all stages of the production cycle.
Assess and optimize the performance of new and existing features by actively participating in user research and assessing performance metrics.
Present design work to multiple teams and senior leadership for review and feedback.
Contribute to user interface design and development best practices and standards.
6 years of experience as a user experience designer, interaction designer, information architect, or similar role.
An online portfolio or samples of work demonstrating experience creating great user-centered design solutions.
Experience designing mobile products.
Experience working in a collaborative team and working directly with developers for implementation of designs.
Bachelors degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment.
A relentless customer focus.
Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Experience with designing products for global markets.
Experience in business-to-business, operations or logistics.
Proficiency with web and accessibility standards.
Basic working knowledge of HTML and CSS
