SOCIAL MEDIA SPECIALIST INTERN 2018-2019
Multicultural Student Center
This specialist will work on all aspects of social media to promote events, services, and purpose of the Multicultural Student Center through social media avenues including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and more. This intern will work on building a relationship with followers and more, as well as provide some analysis of social media analytics and engagement.
Please note the MSC Assistant Director of Leadership and Involvement serves as the supervisor for the internship program.

Written/verbal/electronic communications skills
Highly Organized and Energized
Excellent customer service skills
Experience with social media, preferably beyond personal use
Specific Internship Responsibilities Include:
Generate new content & promotion strategies using social media, build relationships online & engage stakeholders and measure/analyze social media trends and analytics
Create online images for social media – Facebook cover photos, Instagram posts, etc.
Develop a consistent daily/weekly social media engagement plan
Create attractive and engaging posts, images, and videos that engage beyond a simple flyer
Collaborating with various campus departments and organizations to promote MSC visibility
Promote the various social media outlets to gain more student followers
Assist in assessment of MSC initiatives
Assist MSC staff with special projects
Other projects as assigned
All MSC Student Intern Responsibilities (in addition) include:
Serve as the first contact for all MSC stakeholders (students, faculty, invited guests, and organizations) utilizing the Center and other Red Gym facilities
Opening and closing the Center during the appropriate shifts
Keep all work areas clean and orderly
Attend bi-weekly student life intern staff meetings (coordinated by supervisor)
Work on special projects as assigned by Center staff, which may include bulk mail projects, updates of reference materials, retrieving copy paper form the MSC Supply Room, marketing MSC programs, and other duties as assigned
Implement MSC policies and procedures as they pertain to MSC guests
Participate in all MSC sponsored programs (when feasible)
Complete semester and yearlong capstone project as assigned
Interns are required
to attend a three-day training at the beginning of fall semester before starting work. Training dates will be Aug 28th, 29th, and 30th, 2018.
